Meals served 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Free, nutritious noon meals cooked by dedicated community volunteers to those in need. The noon meals help to meet three separate needs in our community: the homeless population in need of food for basic survival; those on fixed or low-income budgets who need help stretching their funds; and to meet the social needs of those who would normally eat alone.
Qualified applicants may receive limited financial assistance, clothing referrals, and vouchers for rent, utilities, medications, and other emergency needs. Assistance is based on household size and income.
Emergency Food Pantry
Food boxes are provided to qualified individuals and families and include staples such as meat protein, fresh produce, and dairy items as available. Assistance requires a referral voucher from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
Shelters are open from 4:00 pm – 9:00 am.
Cedar Valley Salvation Army overnight shelters:
Men's Shelter (16 beds)
Women's and Children's Shelter (32 beds)
Single Residence Family Shelter (5 beds)
It is recommended those needing shelter first contact The Salvation Army to determine if space is available. The Emergency Shelters contain their own kitchen facilities in addition to separate bedrooms, common spaces, and restrooms.
Bed availability changes daily. Intake and exit surveys are conducted with all residents.
