Custodian Assistant

Assist the professional staff with building maintenance. Assist in such things as sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing floors. Clean and dust around windows. Clean and maintain restrooms.

 

Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance

General duties pertaining to lawn care.

 

Canteen (Emergency Disaster Service)

Serving already prepared food and beverages to those in need. Distribute food and supplies in devastated areas.

 

Mentor (School year)

The FAC is a free place for students ages 6-14 to spend their free time in an environment that is safe, fun, and friendly. The FAC opens at 3PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and at 2PM on Wednesday.

The first hour the FAC is open is spent tutoring students with homework while the students without homework are engaged in other learning activities. After the first hour we give students daily opportunities to participate in a variety of activities such as playing board, computer, and video games, drawing and coloring, watching movies, and playing active games in the gym. We also offer students various other opportunities on a weekly or monthly basis such as Character Building, mentor-ship (6 grade +), and other various activities. Our students are required to uphold a set of basic standards and obey a specific set of rules in order to attend the FAC and continue to participate in the various activities.

Food Distribution/Preparer

Help with sorting, bagging, and getting items ready for our daily food distribution (when we have overages of product to give out to the public). Help to distribute food to the public.

 

Office Assistant

Assist staff with answering phones, data entry, filing, assisting with special events and etc.

 

Clerical/Data Entry Assistant

Must possess competent computer knowledge in programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and web-based applications. Must be detail-oriented, organized, work independently, have basic social and telephone skills. Must be comfortable interacting with potential and current volunteers (and clients) in-person.

 

Meal Program Assistant- Individuals & Groups

Assist the cook in preparing a free lunch for the community.

 

Women’s Shelter Volunteer

 Assist staff with processing donations, cleaning and sorting closets/ pantries.

 

Sorter at the Salvation Army Thrift Store

Sort and tag donated merchandise, provide customer service, light cleaning, display merchandise, and etc. We are also looking for someone to assist in testing electronics/ appliances.
